Release the creative spirit within you! Learn to paint loose luminous watercolors and allow watercolor do what it does best: FLOW. Instead of using references or photographs, your painting will emerge from within. Tuition: $100

CREATIVE ABSTRACT DESIGN June 21 - 22, 9am Saturday - 4pm Sunday. A Point Reyes Field Seminar Workshop - held at the historic Lifeboat Station. Using an unusual and imaginative "mock-up" technique, you will design and create an amazing large-scale watermedia painting. You will begin by collecting shapes, colors and textures from a variety of sources. Using these materials—and the principles of design—you will create a collage in a small format. This collage will be your working model. Your unique and personal work of art will be invented in this planning stage. You will then develop and paint your large-scale painting using this model. You will come away with an astounding one-of-a-kind painting AND a new method of designing future paintings. Accommodations, with optional Friday evening arrival, are included. WEEKEND SKETCHBOOK/PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP—Easing Into Outdoor Painting Saturday & Sunday, June 28 & 29 9:30 - 4:30 Many students are intimidated by the prospect of outdoor painting. We will sneak up on the process by practicing first in the studio. Later we will spend time on location doing watercolor, pen and ink studies in our sketchbooks. These gems will later be used for our larger paintings.

NON-OBJECTIVE ABSTRACTION in watercolor Friday, Saturday & Sunday, August 15, 16 & 17 9:30 - 4:every successful realistic painting begins with a strong abstract design. Even if you think abstract paining is not for you, give this exciting workshop a try. Your representational paintings will never be the same. You will come away with new ideas, tools and techniques that will enhance your future paintings.Using principles of design and elements of shape, color,line and texture, you will compose, design and paint a fabulous large-scale non-objective abstract painting. You will LOVE this workshop!

Cancellation Policy: Notification must be received at least 16 days before the first day of class if you cancel and wish to receive a refund (minus a 25% cancellation fee). In lieu of a refund, a full credit towards another workshop, good for a one-year period, is available. No refunds, transfers or credits will be issued on cancellations made less than 16 days in advance for any reason. You may arrange for someone else to attend in your place if you wish.
